One of the most
central features of the entire career of Dr. Gordon has been his quest for the
truth, particularly about his own specialty of intravenous chelation therapy.
He discovered, many years ago, that oral EDTA was just as effective as,
perhaps even more effective than, intravenous chelation therapy.
He tried to get his fellow IV doctors to listen to this evidence. They refused. That story is well told on these pages, here in this web site.
The terrible disaster to mankind, and to those stubborn IV doctors is that the entire process of chelation (whether oral or intravenous) has been greatly damaged, to the great joy of the heart doctors and mostly to the joy of the drug companies.
The victory of those who intend to do evil to mankind, and who succeed, was shown in 1998 when the FTC made final a consent agreement with the IV doctors -- proclaiming that the IV doctors were misrepresenting their own therapy.
On December 8, 1998, the [FTC] Commission accepted, subject to public comment, an Agreement containing a Consent Order executed by ACAM. ACAM, while not admitting the Commission's allegations, waived its right to contest the issues in a trial on the merits. The Commission's complaint accompanying the consent agreement alleges that ACAM made: (1) unsubstantiated claims that EDTA chelation therapy is effective in treating atherosclerosis (blocked arteries); and (2) false claims that scientific studies prove that EDTA chelation therapy is an effective treatment for atherosclerosis.(8) The proposed consent order would prohibit ACAM in the future from making unsubstantiated claims concerning the effectiveness of chelation therapy in the treatment of circulatory diseases, and would prohibit ACAM from misrepresenting scientific evidence in connection with its advertising for chelation therapy. As I have acknowledged, it was Garry Gordon who I sought out in 1999 for the truth about oral EDTA, and whose advice I followed when I added oral EDTA to my formula.
When I saw the overwhelming evidence Garry showed me, I realized that the IV doctors (most of them are members of ACAM -- the American College of Advancement in Medicine) were riding, full-tilt, toward their own doom. I wrote about this in early 2000, HERE.
The IV doctors have STILL not seen this grim reality staring them in the face. Dr. Elmer Cranton, my hero, of course has seen this truth. Click here for his story about the FTC attack -- he makes it clear that the "actual" attack by the FTC is NOT harmful, but the drug companies are USING that attack, altering the message to worsen and falsify the story. Tough, the IV doctors allowed themselves to get into the pickle anyway.
Their technology WORKS. There is no doubt about it. But, their explanation is foolish. There are probably STILL IV doctors who angrily disagree with the law. The FDA says that you cannot claim that a substance will prevent or cure a disease unless that substance has been approved by the FDA. Simple! The IV doctors, some of them, still claim that IV chelation "cures atherosclerosis!" It is hard to believe doctors could be so dumb.
Sure, it's a dumb law, but it is even dumber to break the law when the powerful drug interests want that law enforced.
All they would have to do is what I have done. I do not claim that my oral chelation formula "cures anything." I claim, and prove overwhelmingly, that my formula removes metals from the body. That's it! End of claim!
But, I go on, then, to also assert, as it is my First Amendment, Free Speech, Right to do, that heart disease is caused by free radical damage and that free radicals are increased in quantity and danger by the presence of metals in the body.
Garry Gordon has been saying this for many years -- to IV doctors who will not listen. They remain deaf so thus rush to their own demise!
I have made a big thing out of exposing the
lie that high cholesterol is a dangerous risk for heart disease. This is
just not true. My article on that should have enough science in it to
establish this. I then use this concept as a kind of grading system for
the honesty and care with which various people toss around stuff -- like "high
cholesterol." For instance, Dr. Robert Atkins is one of my heroes -- he
practices IV chelation and promotes a diet high in protein and low in
carbohydrates. So, I agree with him on this. But, in his newsletter he
talks about a diet that will naturally reduce cholesterol levels.
In addressing cholesterol issues at The Atkins Center, doctors try to lower LDL while raising HDL. This is generally achieved through a low-carbohydrate diet combined with vita-nutrient therapy, including this formula. (source)
I see this as bowing in the direction of the commonly held, very wide-spread, false belief in the dangers of high cholesterol. When I see someone pandering, my opinion of them goes down. Dr. Gordon added Red Yeast to his formula for the purpose of lowering cholesterol. That is not my idea of helpful science.
Many times I have had people write to me, and ask, "Karl, will your formula reduce my dangerous cholesterol level?" I obviously risk losing customers when I answer, truthfully, "No, it won't reduce cholesterol because I did not design it to do that, and also because high cholesterol is NOT a risk factor for heart disease." When I say that, I've just added one more break in reality for my prospect to struggle with. He "knows" that high cholesterol is dangerous. He "thinks" that, maybe, this "Karl Loren formula" will help him. He asks his innocent question. He finds now that Karl is more revolutionary than he suspected. Better to take Lipitor and hope!
So, an honest researcher in this field of false data about heart disease must decide whether he will pander to the popular, but false notion of the dangers of high cholesterol, or take on this additional burden of speaking the truth and educating his customers.

Jean Ross and I, Karl Loren, heard about the ultrasound test during a meeting where a representative of the Ultra Life, Inc., of Huntington Beach spoke. We paid a single fee for each of us, to cover one test for arteries and blood flow, and another test to detect cancer, among all the major organs of the body.
Both Karl Loren and Jean Ross came out with less than 15% blockage. The doctor who administered the tests it was "zero blockage" but that their written report would show their lowest rating of 15% or less. My wife is now 65 and I am 71 -- this type of low blockage is undoubtedly due to the fact that we each have been taking our own oral chelation formulas for more than 15 years. My formulas contain Vitamin A in the form of Beta Carotene and also Fish Oil. Dr. Gordon's formula has beta carotene, but also something called Vitamin A Palmitate. Click here for data about the different forms of vitamin A.
After reviewing Dr. Gordon's material I concluded that I have to include Omega 3 oils, and perhaps other oils. I have set out on my own research to find out what I think should be done on this.
My first "outside" reference is a well-known study published by the American Heart Association. Normally I have not thought of them as an honest source of data, but I start with this, then look elsewhere to see who might support the AHA or refute it. I am particularly interested in studies about the mercury that may be found in fish. One study is here. A study from the New England Journal of Medicine is HERE. Dr. Gordon makes the statement, in one of his recorded lectures, that using the oral chelation formula with EDTA daily will remove the metal from whatever food you eat -- before it can enter your body and cause harm.
Mary Enig has been a well-respected source of information about oils, so the article associated with her, on Flax, is well worth studying. However, I found some areas in this article that made me think much less of the author, and therefore much less of her other data. Read the article to find my disagreement there.
