One Person's Desperation About Rapid Heart Beat

Source:  Private eMail

The following exchange of messages is typical of how I, Karl Loren, start a research and writing project.  Prior to receiving the message below I had little or no information about "rapid heart beat."  I started the research after receiving this message from Bryan.

KARL,

Thank you for being so responsive to my questions lately; I have been reading your website, and the amount of information is overwhelming.  I have a problem Karl, and I very earnestly and sincerely need your help.

Something is wrong with me, and I am scared.  I have already established for you that I have ruled out "wrong relationships" as being my problem, and I have started to change my diet, stopped smoking (which i did for 5 years), and have been exercising regularly for about an hour per night.  So far i have lost about 40 lbs since march.

I am 29, weigh 199lbs, and am 5'10".  My problem is as follows: My normal heart rate is high..120 bpm, and this morning I woke up feeling a little panicy and noticed that my heart was racing at 147 bpm; i am at work now and just checked it and it is at 148 bpm.  I feel like I should go to the Dr., but the information on your web pages has made me very distrustful of Doctors.

Please help me!!! I am so scared!  I have a beautiful wife and child, and one on the way, and I want to be around for a long time, but I feel that something is terribly wrong.

Please respond to this as quickly as possible, or even call me on my toll free work number xxx-xxx-xxxx  if you have the time.

Again, I am desperate for your help.

Very sincerely,

Dear Bryan,
I have one page, only, at the moment, about rapid heart rate.
It is a very traditional view of this condition -- not at all what I expect to finally conclude.
But, it would be a start for you.
http://chelationtherapyonline.com/anatomy/p53.htm
I'm going off for a few hours, and will be working on this more today, and will have more published probably today.]
In the meantime, I suggest you read the paragraph on "causes"

There are many possible causes of a rapid heartbeat, including: · exercise, heavy lifting or other activity that requires exertion · fear, pain, anxiety, stress, anger, or nervousness ·  fever ·  dehydration. This may be caused by too little intake of fluids, loss of blood, diarrhea, vomiting, or medications such as diuretics, sometimes called "water pills." ·  low blood pressure, also called hypotension ·  hyperthyroidism, which is a level of thyroid hormone in the body that is too high ·  congestive heart failure, a condition in which the heart cannot pump blood effectively · irregular heartbeats, known as arrhythmias, such as atrial fibrillation or ventricular tachycardia. These may be caused by salt imbalances, heart attack, and other conditions. · low red blood cell count known as anemia · medications or drugs. Albuterol, which is commonly used to treat asthma, as well as some over the counter and prescription decongestants can cause rapid heartbeat. Cocaine abuse and alcohol withdrawal are other causes of rapid heartbeat. · excessive caffeine intake · some herbal therapies such as ephedra, also called ma huang · infections. These may include such as a serious blood infection called sepsis and pneumonia. · nerve damage, known as peripheral neuropathy, that affects the nerves attached to the heart. This is often due to diabetes, a condition that results in a high level of blood sugar. · low oxygen in the blood, also called hypoxia. There can be many causes for this. Examples include asthma and emphysema.

Other causes are possible. Sometimes, no cause can be found.

Do not be overly impressed by this list -- I publish this page to present the traditional view -- I always want to present the traditional view -- particularly when I disagree with it.  However, as of yet, I've not done my research and have not come to any conclusions.

Consider the above "causes" -- even if they are traditional, and write back how you think you score on any of them.

 Regards,

 Karl Loren

THE ONES THAT SOUND THE MOST LIKE ME ARE "STRESS" AND "TACHYCARDIA".

I WAS HOPING FOR MORE, BUT I SUPPOSE I WILL GO TO THE DOCTOR TO DAY AS SCHEDULED.  I AM GOING
TO TALK TO MY WIFE, AND IF I CAN AFFORD IT, I AM GOING TO ORDER SOME TAHEEBO, AND SOME LIFE GLOW FROM YOU.

CAN YOU RECOMMEND A MIXTURE OF LIFE GLOW BASIC AND LIFE GLOW PLUS OR SUPER LIFE GLOW THAT WILL MAXIMIZE BENEFIT AND MINIMIZE COST?  I KNOW I SAW IT ON YOUR WEBSITE, BUT I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO FIND IT SINCE.

THANKS AGAIN.

Dear Bryan,
You have picked two bad choices.
Tachycardia is, of course, NOT a cause, but another symptom.
Stress is also not a valid choice.
I have written some more -- check this page
http://www.chelationtherapyonline.com/anatomy/p60.htm
I would suggest you either not see the doctor, or take a very, very cautious view of whatever he says.
He will try to use fear on you -- telling you that you are a walking time bomb-- soon to explode.
Your wife will be a widow.
Your child on the street.
The new baby put in a home because the mother has no money.
All of this and more.
It is your life, of course, but I urge you to be courageous.
I'll have more up later today.
Taheebo is not likely to help your condition.
MY Life Glow Plus has helped some people with rapid heart beat -- but I, personally, don't yet understand the mechanism well enough to know which of my ingredients might be helpful.
I do know that Life Glow Plus, with or without Life Glow Basic, would be a safe and healthy start for you.
I think you can click on the links in the article below.  (enclosed article about Life Glow Basic)
Regards,
Karl

Dear Karl,

also, how much magnesium should i take?

Bryan

Dear Bryan,

I have yet to do that research.

Calcium normally makes you constipated.

Magnesium makes you have loose bowels

Probably you can take 2000 mg.  Buy the powder, mix with boiling  water, cool with ice cubes and drink -- it is cheaper that way.

I'll have to look at my own supply and see what else I can tell you.

I should take it, but forget.

Karl

Karl,
My doctor found that my pulse was elevated, my blood pressure was 158/84 as opposed to last time 142/100 (two factors here: fear of going to the doctor - upper number going up, and the result of my diet and exercise changes - lower number going down) my resting pulse rate even with the added anxiety of being at the Dr.'s office was 116, and my electrocardiogram came back normal.

I expressed to her that i wanted to avoid anxiety medication, and she said that she would be willing to give me a month to get some positive results, and if i didn't, she would want to put me on Celexa (Citalopram Hydrobromide) - trust me, I know...I've got 20 pages of research on it in front of me, and I don't like what I'm seeing.  I have been desperate to find an alternative, and it just so happens that the information I have found on Magnesium defficiency have been an exact match for my symptoms....on top of that, many of the lifestyle factors that cause Mg defficiency match very closely, some of my recent poor health behaviors.

While I was out for lunch (before I got your replies) i went to GNC and purchased a bottle of pills; each pill contains 250mg of Magnesium Di-L-Aspertate (which my research indicates is the most bioavailable source of Mg, and 250mg of Monopotassium Aspertate.  I paid $20.00 for the bottle, so if I got the wrong stuff, try to let me know by the end of the day, so I can take it back if need be.  I did not happen across any Mg powder while I was out...Any suggestions about where to
get some?  Again, I thank you so much for you support and ecouragement.  I look at the word encouragement in this context at the root of it's parts: to be filled with courage by another; Karl, you have certainly done that for me.  I thank God for you and others like you.

Please stay in touch, as I am ready to absorb whatever you can share with me.

Thanks again,

Dear Bryan,
I'm delighted to hear all this news.
The magnesium powder I use is the favorite formula of a friend of mine who owns his own vitamin business -- it is a 32 ounce jar, for about $30, and I'll get more data.  I found that I didn't have any left!!
Shame on me.
The magnesium you bought is probably a good start.
I suspect, but my research is not done, that you need the magnesium in your blood stream, not elsewhere, and I believe that even more common variety of magnesium is well absorbed into the blood stream.
In other words, the stuff you got is better than you need, I think.
I'll get that finished in due course.
I'm anxious to hear from you after a few days taking the magnesium.
I don't know for sure, but suggest 2000 mg of the magnesium as your daily dosage -- divided into a couple batches if you wish.
There is a new article on the web, you've not seen, on the proper balance between calcium and magnesium.  I've not even studied it yet, but will tonight, and suggest you do too.
It is at:
http://www.chelationtherapyonline.com/anatomy/p59.htm  a good source.
Incidentally, you referred me to an article by Dr. Ray  Evers.  He was a friend of mine, and I very much trust his data.
Cordially,
Karl

KARL, ALSO, DOES IT HELP TO TAKE MSM WITH THE MAGNESIUM  SUPPLEMENT, AND DOES IT MATTER WHAT BRAND OR FORM OF MSM, AND WHAT IS THE PROPER DOSAGE? i AM 214lbs, 29 years old....hope that helps...please let me know...

Bryan

Dear Bryan,

MSM would NOT be needed to get the magnesium into your blood stream, but it would be helpful to get the magnesium into other parts of your body.
MSM is a penetrant and a carrier.  It penetrates into cells, and carries other stuff with it.
I sell MSM, bulk and capsules -- at www.bulkmsm.com
Dosage for MSM?
How much MSM should you take? And How?

How long should you keep taking any particular dosage?

First how?
MSM in capsule form does not usually raise this question.  Capsules are easy to take -- several into the mouth, a swallow of water or beverage, and you have taken them.  Some people can only take one or two capsules at a time -- others can stuff 20 in their mouth and manage to get them down with one or two swallows of water.

Bulk MSM?  Your choice is really between putting a teaspoon of the stuff into your mouth (it tastes pretty bad) and then
taking enough water or juice to wash it down -- or putting that teaspoon full into a glass of something.

The "something" would normally be warm water, first, because MSM dissolves most quickly in warm water.  Once it is dissolved you can then mix in more water, ice or add any beverage to disguise the taste.

Disguising the taste?  Tomato juice is the strongest disguiser!!  Orange juice, or any juice will help hide the taste of the MSM.

None of these juices will adversely affect the results of the MSM.

You can also take some of the bulk powder, put it into a spray bottle with water. The amount of MSM is not very critical as long as you have so much MSM that it all won't dissolve. THEN, you'll have a maximum MSM solution in the water with some MSM, not yet dissolved, in the bottom of the bottle.  You can then spray this mixture on your body -- face, anywhere.

Do not be afraid to get it in your eyes or mouth -- it will not hurt, and can help a lot.  The FDA won't allow anyone to sell MSM eye drops without FDA approval.  No one will pay the money to prove that it is safe.  So, you won't be able to buy MSM eye drops.  Nonetheless, if you decide to do it, on your own, you might get some very excellent results.  I have done this and found it very soothing -- no pain or irritation. So, if you put the MSM in a spray bottle, you could deliberately spray it into your open eyes.  You can help a dog a great deal with a spray bottle, even his eyes if he is old and going blind.

As you use up the supply of water in the bottle, keep adding more water and more MSM -- always enough MSM so that there is more than will dissolve.  About 20% of the weight of the water, in MSM, will dissolve, depending on the temperature of the water.

The water will never spoil or get stale, just keep the bottle filled, and spray.  If you have a bad skin condition, anywhere on the body, you can spray several times per day. This will leave a very slight residue.  Not sticky.

You can also mix this into your hair, but it will leave the hair a bit stiff -- but you can then comb or brush it.

MSM is very beneficial when applied on the outside of the body.  The MSM cream, of course, is even better.

You can also use the MSM water for a douche or gargle or even an enema.

MSM can be used to stop snoring.  You only have to rub some under your nose just before sleep.  MSM in cream form will work easily for this.  Otherwise, you may have trouble getting the MSM to stay on your skin for any period of time.

Now, how much MSM?
Well, that's a much more important question.

The MSM you get from Vibrant Life is about the least expensive in the world -- so that means other MSM is more expensive!

You'll find that when some vitamin material is relatively expensive that the seller is often tempted to claim that only a small amount is needed.

That is true about MSM.

Most MSM is sold in capsule or tablet form -- those cost much more than bulk.  Because they are most expensive forms of packaging AND because those companies have inherently more expensive stuff, they are tempted to tell you that 3 or 4 capsules is all you need.

Usually that is not true!

Many other brands of MSM will tell you that 1000 mg or perhaps 3000 mg per day is what you should take.

Unfortunately, they don't want to tell you that you might need to take 20,000 mg per day because that would expose the high cost of their product.

Bulk MSM is the way to go if you can handle the taste somehow.

Why?

Because many people WILL need to take 20 grams per day.  That is the same as 20,000 mg per day.

If you take our capsules, that would be 40! capsules per day.  Very few people want to take 40 capsules of anything.
So, if you are taking the capsules, keep in mind that you may need to take a lot of them to get relief from arthritic pain.

If you are taking the bulk, start by recognizing that one heaping teaspoon i about 5 grams (5,000mg).

We suggest you start with one teaspoon per day of the bulk, and if you don't see some dramatic change in the absence of
pain within two days, increase the dosage.

Continue increasing the dosage up to 4 heaping teaspoons per day (20 grams).

Most people should achieve very dramatic relief from arthritic pain by the time they reach 20 grams of MSM per day.

You can also use MSM in your bathwater and it will leave your skin getting smoother and smoother -- and even help eliminate minor rashes, infections and skin conditions.

Use about 2 full cups of MSM in a full bathtub for a long soaking (20 minutes) bath -- and don't worry about getting it in your eyes or mouth.  No problem.

You can let the baby or children play in this type of bathwater, even head under the water, eyes open, with no problem.

Let us know of your experiences.

How Long For Any Particular Dosage?

MSM does not "cure" arthritis.  It seems to eliminate the swelling that causes pain, but when you stop taking MSM that swelling will return -- probably in  a few days.

So, whatever level of MSM you find is helpful to you is probably the dosage you will have to continue to take.

You can always give it a try. Cut the dosage for a few days -- see if the pains return.  If they don't you can stay on the lower dosage and reduce it even further.

It is not harmful to take MSM so you don't have to worry about adverse long term effects.
