Single-handedly John D. Rockefeller destroyed the prevailing medical model and created the new one -- allopathic medicine. The primary result of this activity was that his crude oil, worth perhaps a nickel per gallon, suddenly, turned into medical drugs, was worth millions of dollars per gallon. The initial changes in medicine seemed good, but the sinister and hidden purpose behind his millions of dollars of donations -- they are what we see today in the modern medical model -- based on drugs that don't cure, but increase the disease of mankind.

Rockefeller was 57 years old in 1896 when he decided that others should take over the day-to-day leadership of Standard Oil. He now focused his efforts on philanthropy, giving away the bulk of his fortune in ways designed to do the most good as determined by careful study, experience and the help of expert advisers. The Principles and Practice of Medicine was unusual in its wealth of historical and literary reference, as well as in its emphasis on pathological anatomy. Also unique was Osler’s frankness regarding the lack of effective treatment for many conditions. Frederick T. Gates, a member of John D. Rockefeller’s philanthropic staff, read the second edition of the book in 1897, and based on its forthrightness about the need for research to develop cures for most diseases, he advised Rockefeller to fund medical research. Rockefeller founded the Rockefeller Institute for Medical Research in 1901 and the Rockefeller Foundation in 1913. When the institute made a gift to Harvard Medical School in 1902, Gates attributed the donation to the influence of Osler’s book. (source)
