Jean Ross Summary

Jean Ross at one of her office tasks.This photo was taken about 14 months after Jean had been diagnosed with deadly cancer of the esophagus. She was judged to be at Stage 3+ which means she was given less than 2 years to live, with or without therapy.

Her story is one of peril and joy as she moved from hope to hospice and then from maybe to miracle!

The full story is elsewhere, but the point of her taking the Hubbard Detoxification was that she, and I, Karl Loren, both had done this same Detox some 25 years earlier when we first joined the Church of Scientology. We knew how effective it was then in ridding our bodies of the toxins we had accumulated by then.

We both knew that the deadly poison of the chemotherapy was actually far more harmful to her body than the cancer itself. We also knew that, exactly contrary to what the radiation doctor claimed, that radiation was deadly to the body. Her esophagus was the target of 20 radiation treatments. The radiation turned the entire esophagus into scar tissue such that she would never be able to swallow through it again.

One incompetent surgeon told her that the surgery to remove the scar tissue would have only a 5% chance of living through the process, would require 12 hours in surgery and 30 or more days in intensive care. We filed a formal letter of complaint because the insurance company (Secure Horizons) would not allow us to get a "second" opinion. We were delayed, but finally got that second opinion from a great surgeon who said that the surgery would have a 95% of success in HER hands.

The whole story is gripping -- the final result was that she was pronounced "cured" by two different MD's at UCLA Hospital -- and by complete absence of any cancer traces in 21 biopsies, and later by PET and CAT scans. A description of the surgery is here.
