During the detox I was supposed to stay on whatever medications I had been approved for, medically, when I started. I knew near the end of the Detox that I wanted to stop using the blood pressure pills. I had been taking three drugs for many years and two things happened during the Detox. First, my BP got lower and second I researched and found that the drugs I was taking had a harmful effect for me, not a useful effect. The three drugs were: |
| 2 | There were several different types of exercise machines available where I did the Detox. The one I used was the "Polar" Treadmill. There is a GREAT DEAL more about this device HERE. One of the purposes of the daily exercise is to get the heart rate "up" to a level appropriate for your age and condition. I exercised within a "training rate" where the Treadmill increased or decreased in speed in order to keep my heart rate going up and down in a training pattern -- from a low of 100 beats per minute to a high of 110 beats per minute. Many people do this Detox without being so particular about keeping exact records of heart rate, time and other measures of the exercise. As I was planning my continuing exercise program, after the Detox, I knew that I wanted to use exercise equipment that would allow me to achieve about the same measurements as I had been getting on the Detox. I found that the "mini trampoline," the "strider" and the "rowing machine" I already had each gave me a fine range of high and low heart rates with different levels of exercise. In other words, as great as the Polar Treadmill was, I found I could get comparable forms of exercise with what I already owned. The "key" here is to purchase and use the "Polar Chest Monitor" that picks up and broadcasts your heart rate to a wristwatch receiver and to other devices such as the Treadmill. |
| 3 | I have now started a new, separate page to describe the exercises on a regular basis. The "main Karl Loren Diary" is still the beginning point for keeping track of changes in whatever I'm keeping track of. You have, now, a rare opportunity, if you wish it, to follow the actual research steps I take in developing the subject of "life enhancement" which, per my usage of that term, is far more than what "health improvement" usually includes. |
