Eye Sight -- Karl Loren

By the year 2001 I had had difficulty with my eyes for many years. I quit reading books or almost anything printed on paper. That difficulty kept getting worse -- by 2004 I was not reading much of anything except my beloved computer screen. Long ago I had purchased one of those very large screens -- so I could still read OK on the computer. It looked like I was staring at my work, constantly.

I remember the first time I was ever told I "needed glasses!" It was a low blow to my self-esteem. I had just turned 40. The doctor said, "Well just about everyone needs glasses by the time they are 40!" I kept getting stronger and stronger glasses, but I could read well for many years. In 2005 when I was 74 years old there wasn't anyone offering any hope that my eyesight could get better!

I could still read computer screens easily even in June 2005 – they are back-lit and you can adjust the size of the type to make the words as large as you wish. Since my work has been as a researcher and author it was vital that I still be able to read somewhere – the computer made that easy.

But, I lost the ability to read books!

My many trips to the optometrists gave me stronger and stronger glasses and one cataract surgery. It was finally in early 2005 that my eye-doctor told me that a prescription with greater power would not improve my eye sight, that my remaining cataract was not “ready” for surgery and that there was nothing I could do to stop the slow decline.

I realized I would never “go blind” since my distance vision remained OK, if fuzzy. But in less light even someone close to me was a bit fuzzy! What a reward for my Golden Years of retirement!

But, even reading on the computer screen declined until I was finally using the strongest glasses I could get, closing one eye, peering and squinting with the other eye, and getting to within a few inches of the computer screen – just to read stuff.

It was just about as bad as going blind.

I finally decided to pay privately for a cataract surgeon. My insurance said my eye was not “ready!” But, a “fee for service” doctor convinced me that I could get his cataract surgery and see well without glasses.

I gave him a $1,000 deposit and had a firm schedule for eye surgery in July 2005. I really wanted this surgery. Since my insurance wouldn't cover this I was ready to pay several thousand dollars of my own money just to get my eyes back in shape.

Then!

Something happened in my universe. There was this “decision” to get better. I knew that if I were going forward with the surgery I would wait until some time after the surgery to do the Detoxification Program, as planned, with my wife. I was at the point where I didn’t much like putting the Detox on a further delay, either for myself or Bonnie.

I also had started feeling that I HAD to get some exercise program started.

So it seemed natural to me, if not to others, that I should join a Kung Fu class, start some vigorous exercise and cancel the cataract surgery and get onto the Detox Program as soon as I could. I am excited about Kung Fu and have a new web site for just that subject -- here.

Quite a batch of decisions for this 74 year old pot-bellied guy.

The Kung Fu was and is continuing to be remarkable for what I get out of it. In my very first class the Grandmaster told us all that the Kung Fu exercises would help our eyesight -- I suspect that those simple exercises helped, but getting rid of the toxins in my body was the more likely big reason for my miracle.

But it was on the Detox for only a couple weeks that I noticed my eye sight had improved.

That was virtually impossible to believe.

Just a few days before I finished the Detox program I picked up a copy of Clear Body Clear Mind and started to read a Chapter – sitting in the waiting area of the Detox program, with sunlight in through the window. This is the book that describes ALL details of why this Detox is so important, how it works and how you can get started. I have that Book for sale if you are interested == click here. You can usually find it in any good bookstore too.

I was reading easily, both eyes, without glasses.

I hadn't been able to read that way for many years!!

I’ve never even heard of such a change for a guy with my eye-condition and age.

So, I still wear glasses, partly because NOW I have to train myself away from the habit of squinting since I don’t have to. It is fascinating how much of a habit I had gotten into. I was so used to squinting when I read that it was difficult to break that habit when I didn't need to squint!

What a win!
