Deadly Tuna -- Mercury Deception
One reason she didn't know was that the government had never said so. The FDA had known for many years that canned tuna contained mercury, which studies link to learning impairment in children. Consumer groups long urged the agency to address the issue. But it wasn't until March 2004, after regulatory tussles between health advocates and the tuna industry and between clashing scientists for the FDA and EPA, that those agencies issued a mercury advisory that cited tuna. That joint EPA and FDA advisory urged limits on how much tuna children and some women should eat.
Common Industrial Chemicals Cause Great Harm
For years, scientists have struggled to explain rising rates of some cancers and childhood brain disorders. Something about modern living has driven a steady rise of certain maladies, from breast and prostate cancer to autism and learning disabilities.
One suspect now is drawing intense scrutiny: the prevalence in the environment of certain industrial chemicals at extremely low levels. A growing body of animal research suggests to some scientists that even minute traces of some chemicals, always assumed to be biologically insignificant, can affect such processes as gene activation and the brain development of newborns.
The solution to THIS type of toxicity is ONLY elimination of the substances from the environment, long ago, or the Hubbard Detoxification Program when, as now, it is too late. There is no other way to remove these toxins.
Fear in the Fields: How Hazardous
Wastes Become Fertilizer
They don't have proof that the stuff they put on their land to feed it actually was killing it. But they discovered something they found shocking and that they think other American farmers and consumers ought to know:
Manufacturing industries are disposing of hazardous wastes by turning them into fertilizer to spread around farms. And they're doing it legally.
When a trucker picks up a load of gray, toxic ash from a metal-processing plant in California, he hangs a "hazardous waste" sign on his rig. On crossing the border into Nevada, he takes the sign down.
In that state, what he's carrying is no longer considered hazardous waste, but fertilizer ingredients. The waste will be delivered to a factory in Reno, treated to remove part of the heavy metals, blended with other materials and sold as fertilizer to farmers in, among other places, California.
More than 1,000 acres of peanut crops were killed by Lime Plus, a toxic brew of hazardous waste and limestone that had been sold - legally - to unsuspecting farmers.
It is the worst confirmed case in the United States of heavy metals in fertilizer destroying crops aimed for human consumption.
Among boys drinking water with 30% to 99% of the fluoride levels recommended by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the risk of osteosarcoma was estimated to be five times as great as among boys drinking nonfluoridated water. At 100% or more, the risk was an estimated seven times as high. The association was greatest for boys six to eight.
Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of civilized man, and, like many other diseases of our modern age, it is a disease of an overactive and misdirected immune system. The specific reasons for this are unclear, but a prominent theory relates heavy metals like mercury, lead and aluminum as the agents that might replace normal molecules in the myelin sheaths, leading to an onslaught of free radical damage which destroys the myelin sheaths, resulting in MS. In addition, the immune system now sees this tissue as foreign, because of the replacement of heavy metals, and produces antibodies which attack the myelin, leading to further damage.
Autism, Mercury and Chelation
Autism was first described in 1943 by Kanner. Thimerosal, a mercury containing preservative, was first use in the vaccines in the early 1930s. Prior to 1970 the prevalence of autism was 1 in 2000. In 1970 it was 1 in 1000 and in 1996 the NIH estimated it to be 1 in 500. In the year 2000 reports from the education sector revealed the incidence to be 1 in 150.

Effects of Toxic Metals on Learning Ability and Behavior
The human brain forms and develops over a long period of time compared to other organs, with neuron proliferation and migration continuing in the postnatal period. The blood-brain barrier is not fully developed until the middle of the first year of life. Similarly there is postnatal activity in the development of neuronal receptors and transmitter systems, as well as in the production of myelin. The fetus has been found to get significant exposure to toxic substances through maternal blood and across the placenta, with fetal levels of toxic metals often being higher than that of maternal blood(30-32,41-43). Likewise infants have been found to get significant exposure to toxics, such as mercury that their mother is exposed to, through breast-feeding(26,43).

INTERPRETATION OF TOXIC METALS IN URINE TEST
MERCURY:

5 or less is considered non-toxic and not likely to cause symptoms

6 to 8 is borderline but not alarming. Treatment with oral DMSA may be desired (this is still less than 2 standard deviations above the mean).

9 or higher is cause for concern and might cause symptoms. Mean=2.2, SD=2.5.
(Mercury is not desirable in any amount but the healthy human body has always contained a baseline amount of mercury. It is not justified to diagnose toxicity at levels existing in millions of Americans without symptoms of metal toxicity—those below the 97th percentile in non-toxic, healthy people).
A Doctor Explains Oral EDTA Chelation Therapy
The traditional amount of IV EDTA administration is 3 grams per IV session. Many in the fore-front of chelation therapy are advocating a lower dose of 1800 mg of EDTA to achieve the similar effect. Taking 1800 mg of oral chelation for 20 days ( 300 mg x6 tablets) daily at 5% intestinal absorption rate will deliver to the body the same amount of EDTA as in one IV session of 1800 mg . In other words, the amount of oral EDTA based on 1800 a day is equivalent to one IV treatment every 3 weeks.
Karl Note: This is not valid science, but at the very least it is an admission by an IV doctor that oral chelation does work.
